This is my home built T'a Soeur. It's a Tracer derived kite, the plans
of which were published in a European kite magazine (but I can't remember
which one!). This is a great kite ( if I do say so myself!) and will perform
most of the current radical tricks. It's made with a Carrington K42 sail,
sparred in Beman 6.3mm Strong carbon. It's a heavy, stiff frame, but the
deep sail gives it an impressive wind range - I've flown it happily in
winds from 2-25mph (though, the pull gets a real handful above 15mph).
Simo Salanne has published modied plans of this kite, called the Raaseri.
The plans can
be found on the Kite Fliers site
.
In my opinion the Rasseri is one of the best public domain plans available, and will provide a superb kite if built correctly It's especially good as an UL (built in Icarex). It differs from the T'a Soeur as it has a cantenary profile trailing edge. |
