The Benson High Profile was a radical, high aspect ratio kite brought
out by Tim about 4-5 years ago. It is a totally wild kite, with an
amazing spin rate. It is a handful to fly - as it stalls easily and
has a lot of oversteer. Originally it was sparred in Bemon 5.5, but
the leading edge spars are under a heavy bending load, and are prone to
snap very easily. I eventually resorted to replacing the leading
edges with some more flexible and resilient exel spar - a BIG improvement.
They don't come much more manic than this in a 5+mph wind... |
