Kuba's Kite Page
Contents
Why this page exists
First of all I was trying to somehow lift a camera to do
arial photography. A kite seemed like the easiest way
to do the job(and probably is). So I was looking for a
good kite that would be able to lift the camera and the
other equipment nessecery. The first try was a sled
kite and it wasn't able to provide steady enough lift.
After watching kites and flying kites for a long time
I was pretty sure that deltas have the most stable lift.
I looked for designs for deltas on the internet and in
books but I couldn't find any plain ordinary deltas.
So I just tried building one just by remembering how
they looked and it worked. Since I couldn't find any
Deltas on the internet I made this page on
kites.org to help
anyone searching the internet for a design for a Delta.
I will soon try to add more information on how I will
try to fly the camera. I just rescently added another page on
how to build a pretty simple sled kite cause now I figured out
how to keep it stable. A Delta is still more stable but
the Sled is much easier to build.
Camera
The camera just hasn't had a lot of luck, cause i can't figure out
how to get the camera remotly operated. I have a 2 channel radio
with a control and servos but its too expensive to risk flying.
The camera would probably be a 1 usage camera so I don't waste a lot
of money if the kite crashes and it breaks. If you have any ideas
please contact me. Thanks
