For 2002 we introduced a monthly event on the first Sunday in the month, from April to September. This also included a carboot sale on occasions which proved very successful. Our aim to revitalise the Island's International Festival
is coming to fruition, but there is a lot of work to do and people to
talk to. However we are planning this for the weekend of 5/6 July 2003.
We have set up a page for information which will be updated as and when

Children in Need 2002 Following on from last years success we thought that this year we would build on that and go for a bigger and better event, how wrong could we be? Flood lights, refreshments and all were arranged, the publicity was better than last year and kite flyers from all over were set to come and fly and it promised to be a great success but the weather gods decided otherwise. After a week of torrential rain our flied was completely flooded, in fact there was nearly enought water to kite surf it was that bad. Next year we plan to hold our Children in Need event during the late summer and do something a little different, probably a 24 hour sponsored fly or something. |
